How it works

Three steps, usually under 20 minutes

1

Book online

Pick a time and location that suits you — evenings or weekends. Tell us what documents you're bringing so we arrive prepared.

2

Meet & verify

Bring your unsigned documents and valid government photo ID. We verify your identity and witness your signature.

3

Sealed & done

Your documents are signed, sealed and ready to use — for court, immigration, banks, schools or abroad.

What we handle

Documents we notarize & commission

If your document isn't listed, ask when booking — it almost certainly is covered.

Travel & Immigration

  • Consent to travel letters (children)
  • Letters of invitation (visitor visas)
  • Certified true copies — diplomas, passports, IDs
  • Marriage-abroad documentation
  • Documents going abroad — notarized ready for apostille (you file with ODS)

Estate & Property

  • Powers of attorney (property & personal care)
  • Wills & estate document witnessing
  • Real estate supporting documents
  • MTO vehicle transfers & family-gift statements
  • Pension life certificates

General & Government

  • Affidavits & statutory declarations
  • OSAP & government application forms
  • Name change & single-status declarations
  • Professional licensing forms (health, legal, engineering)
  • Employment & background-check forms

Notarizing vs. commissioning — which do I need?

Commissioning is swearing that a document's contents are true (affidavits, declarations, OSAP, MTO forms). Notarizing adds the notarial seal — certified copies, signature witnessing, and anything going to another country. Not sure? Tell us where the document is going and we'll handle the right one.

Common questions

FAQ

What documents can you notarize?
Affidavits, statutory declarations, consent letters for children travelling abroad, invitation letters, certified true copies of diplomas and passports, OSAP and pension documents, insurance declarations, and witnessing of powers of attorney and other prepared documents. If you're unsure, ask when booking.
Are you qualified to notarize my documents?
Yes — your notary is a commissioned notary public for Ontario, professionally qualified as a lawyer. Please note that legal advice is not provided through notary appointments; see the About page for details.
Do I sign the document before the appointment?
No — most documents must be signed in front of the notary. Fill in everything else, but leave signatures blank.
What payment do you accept?
Card, Apple Pay / Google Pay, and e-transfer. The $10 booking fee is paid online when you book and is credited to your total; the balance is due at your appointment.
Where can we meet?
Three options: our Whitby home office (address shared at booking), a public spot near you — libraries like Whitby Central, McLaughlin (Oshawa), Ajax Main, Pickering Central or Bowmanville, community and recreation centres, coffee shops, or mall seating areas — or your own home or workplace. Call-outs add a flat $20.
Do you obtain the apostille for me?
No — in Ontario, only Official Documents Services (ODS) can issue an apostille or certificate of authentication; a notary cannot. What we do is the notarization step: we notarize your document so that it is eligible for apostille. You then submit it to ODS yourself, in person or by mail, and pay the ODS fee directly (currently $16 per notarized document). We will tell you exactly what ODS expects so your submission is accepted the first time.
Can I get a same-day or urgent appointment?
Often, yes — evening slots frequently have same-week availability, and urgent requests can text (289) 278-8969 directly.
How do your fees compare with other Durham notaries?
Our $60 first-document rate sits between Durham walk-in offices and typical GTA mobile services that charge $55+ just for travel. The difference is flexibility: evenings and weekends as standard, extra documents at $20 each, and a flat $20 — not a distance-based charge — if we come to you anywhere in Durham.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Reschedule free up to 4 hours before your appointment through your booking link — your $10 booking fee carries over to the new time. Cancellations with 4+ hours' notice can rebook anytime; no-shows forfeit the booking fee.
Can you provide legal advice at the appointment?
No. Notary appointments cover notarial services only — witnessing, oaths, declarations and certified copies. If your matter needs legal advice, you should consult a lawyer under a separate engagement.
